About The Teacher : 

I begin my 14th year of teaching with the 2008-2009 school year. I am very happy to be your child's Kindergarten teacher at the newest elementary school in Charles County, Mary Burgess Neal Elementary. Mrs. Haws (Instructional Assistant) and I have worked together for 4 years. I have taught at Middleton, J.P. Ryon, Matula, and Mt. Hope Nanjemoy Elementary. Besides teaching Kindergarten, I have taught 2nd grade,4th grade science, 1st grade, and Pre-K. I earned my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland, my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, and I hold my Administrative/Supervision Certification. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. 

I am married and I have four children.  My oldest son  is 16 and is a junior in High School. I also have a daughter in 9th grade and two sons that will be attending Neal Elementary.  All of my children attend Charles County Public Schools, as did my husband and myself.        

I enjoy being a mom, reading, spending time with my friends     
and family,traveling,shopping, working out,trying new foods, going to the  
movies, and I especially love the beach!
